Everyone on planet earth, even atheists, know that there is something greater and that we were created by something. Everyone is searching for Truth, everyone is. The Truth, and how its been established to explain creation, has turned into a confusing mess of religion, tradition, folklore, and many other things.
My thought.
You can't look at this beautiful earth and think that a star, or black hole or something "out there", blew up and created it. You can't look at the amazing human body and think that it evolved from a monkey. Your human spirit knows that the mountains, the ocean, seasons and all that the earth holds, has a creator. Every human person that called themselves the one, the way, the truth, is dead, in the ground and will not live again until they stand in judgement on that great day.
There is only One, who lives. It is He who holds a power that in some sense terrifies people. Why? Perhaps because as people, the example presented to us, of those who claim to have power, has been abused and used as a form to manipulate and control. It is hard to imagine a person, would ever use supernatural power for good, to heal, to deliver, to empower, to save. To have this kind of power, and then give it away is just inconceivable to the human mind.
But oh, This man, named Jesus did. He is real and He gave His life so that our lives would be saved, and reconnected to our Creator, our Father, our God. His assignment, will never need to be redone. It was His alone to complete and He alone was the only One who could do it. He shed, untainted, sinless human blood. He died a most excruciating human death. He endured and had to listen to human insults, mockery and laughter. Probably the most painful and terrifying moment in His human life, was being separated from His Father, His Creator, His God while He hung on the cross. He hung on the cross, still knowing that without forgiving and asking for Forgiveness for mankind, His purpose would be incomplete.
Oh, but He completed it! Though He shed His blood, it never lost its Power. He gave up His human spirit, He defeated death and the grave and then, He rose again as our Savior. He has the most famous name in all of the earth. Jesus. Its the name that is above all names, and at that name, every knee shall bow..willingly. No one was before Him, and there will never be another after Him.
The Easter Story is not a fable, it's not a tall tale, No bunny rabbit, boiled egg or creatively crafted basket can overshadow this story and steal the shine from Christ. The Easter story, changed the future of mankind for eternity. The cool part, He exchanged His life, so that we could keep ours and YET, He Lives.
I'm glad about it.
Remembering...the day we were all set free.
Blessings,

Who will go with you?
We All Need Our Purahs
I was reading about Gideon, and loved this revelation of God's view on the importance of friendships. It spoke to me, and I pray that it speaks to you. It just reminds me that in every area of our lives, the right relationships are key to accomplishing the assignments God has given each of us.
Check out God's Word in reply to Gideon, when he is feeling insecure about God's assignment..
"If you are afraid to attack, go down to the camp with your servant Purah and listen to what they are saying. Afterward, you will be encouraged to attack the camp" (Judg 7:11).
The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD, and for seven years He gave them into the hands of the Midianites. Because the power of Midian was so oppressive, the Israelites prepared shelters for themselves in mountain clefts, caves and strongholds. God heard their prayers and decided to deliver them from their oppression through an unknown farmer named Gideon. God came to Gideon through an angel and addressed him, "Mighty Warrior" which was quite a stretch of characterization from Gideon's perspective.
All of us can relate to Gideon. He is very insecure about this assignment from God, especially after God reduces his troop size from 22,000 to 300, to insure that Gideon knew where the victory was coming from.
Now Gideon was still not convinced about this battle, so God did two more things to help ease Gideon's anxiety. He told him to go into the camp during the night to eavesdrop on their soldiers. God tells Gideon that what he will hear will encourage him. Gideon is terrified by the whole idea. So, God takes another step in order to use Gideon for His purposes. He sends a trusted friend and soldier named Purah with him.
God knew that Purah was the person Gideon could confide in, probably one of the ten that had helped him to break down the altar of Baal. He must take him and no one else with him. Purah would be a witness of what Gideon would hear the Midianites say and then provide the needed faith to enter the battle. He would also be a witness to what they hear and reported to the troops. Gideon went on and won the battle.
We all need "Purahs" in our lives.
Think about that person, who speaks life, wisdom and will go with you as you prepare for the assignment God has given you. They are the best person to have in your life and are willing to go with you when God says it's time to fight. Purah's are aware of God's agenda, and do not try to incorporate their own agenda into His plans. We need people who are willing to take risks and who can be used by God to bring our faith up to a level of being able to do extraordinary things in His Kingdom. Has God called you to a daunting assignment? Pay attention to the Purah's in your life. They are in your life to encourage you.
Stay away from counterfeit Purah's that use their faith to tear down or condone your staying in the comfort zone. Anyone who tears down and does not build up, needs to no longer be in your presence. Move them out of your camp quickly so that they do not become an emotional hindrance to you.
God Bless the Purah's in our lives, I don't have many, and I don't need many, but the ones I do have.. to ever think that I can accomplish great things for the cause of Christ without them is just a foolish way to think.

Miracles in Collaboration: Give what you have, even if it doesn't seem like much.
Matthew 14:15 MSG
Toward evening the disciples approached him. "We're out in the country and it's getting late. Dismiss the people so they can go to the villages and get some supper. But Jesus said, "There is no need to dismiss them. You give them supper. All we have are five loaves of bread and two fish, they said. Jesus said, "Bring them here". Then he had the people sit on the grass. He took the five loaves and two fish, lifted his face to heaven in prayer, blessed, broke, and gave the bread to the disciples. The disciples then gave the food to the congregation. They all ate their fill. They gathered twelve baskets of leftovers. About five thousand were fed.I know many are familiar with this story. It seems so impossible to an average person to imagine seeing something like this happening. I know that there were more than 5000 people that went to see Jesus speak that day. I know that these people traveled to hear this man named Jesus, who healed the sick, rose the dead and spoke with such authority that He is the Son of God. These things I know, and I understand. Yet in still, there was still more that I had not understood from this scripture, until just recently. So go with me for just a moment, back into the actual event. I want to share with you what the Holy Spirit revealed to me..
Jesus was mourning the death of his good friend and disciple John the Baptist, who Herod had beheaded. So He traveled by ship, just to get to a desert place, to get away. The word was out over half of the countryside and cities, that this man called Jesus was coming to an area that was near. The people traveled by foot, out of their cities, just to go see him. I am sure it would take a person three times as long on foot, to get to a destination that was traveled to by a ship. Yet, the people went, because they were in need of healing, restoration, answers, direction, and so much more. For many families, it would take days of travel, just to get to the countryside where Jesus was said to be. Many people prepared their caravan with food and water and other items to take with them on the journey. I imagine a very diverse group of people, not just in culture but in class. Amoung this crowd of 5000, that did not include women and children I might add, were probably men of great wealth and men living in extreme poverty. Men from the political platform, religious forums, from farmland, to sheep herders, to the homeless. It takes a person of great presence and attraction, to draw such a vast group of culture and class. Imagine Jesus addressing this multitude of people, the Word tells us that when He sees the multitude, He was moved by compassion.
I can just see Jesus, probably standing on a hillside, teaching without a microphone, but his voice is heard by every single person from the front of the crowd, to the very back of the crowd. I'm not sure how long Jesus had been teaching, but it was long enough for his disciples to tell him that it was getting late, and to let the people go into the neighboring towns so that they could get food. I can see their faces when Jesus told his disciples to feed the people, and as we have read, they even attempted to challenge Jesus about what he had just instructed them to do. Never the less, they do their best to come up with something that Jesus can work with. After all, they have seen what He can do, even in their doubt they obeyed His command. The disciples somehow come across a basket that has two fish and five loaves of bread. Jesus, satisfied with their effort to at least bring Him something, takes it, breaks the bread, blesses it and hands it back to to the disciples to distribute to the people.
As they begin to pass the basket around. The people begin to pull out the food that they prepared and brought with them on their journey. They kept some, but then added the rest to the basket so that more could eat. As the basket continued to go around through the crowd, everyone began to do the same thing. They kept enough food for their family to eat, and placed the rest in the basket. Those who did not have, were able to eat, and those who had plenty, were able to give what they didn't need. The spirit of giving was so strong, that the people had to start another basket, because the first basket was filled to the brim with fish and bread. This continued to go on, through the crowd, families sharing what they had, placing extra in the basket. Once everyone had given and eaten, there were still 12 baskets full of fish and bread that were left over.
Which would be easier for Jesus to do? To have food automatically fill up the baskets and be passed out to the people? Or to encourage the people by showing them how to pray, and give back to God, what they do have, thus showing them how the principle of giving brings increase that becomes more than enough for everyone? I believe both would have been easy for Jesus to do, He is God and nothing is impossible, but I believe even more, that God is able to perform miracles directly out of our willingness and obedience to act or do something according to His Word...even though it looks like there is not enough to work with.
Now, we don't know how it exactly happened, the Word does not give specific detail about how all of these people were able to eat from 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread. It just tells us that He asked for what was available, blessed it and gave it back. This was the revelation that I was given and it helped me to really pay attention to how important it is that we as the body of Christ, listen, obey and then collaborate through what we are able to give, to accomplish God's plan. He wants us to love Him, and to love People. You may not have money, but you have materials. You may not have materials but you have produce. You may not have produce, but you have grain. You may not have grain, but you have time. You many not have time, but you have ideas. You may not have ideas but you have a gift or a talent. Whatever you have to give, it is worth it to give it back to God, so that He can bless it and multiply it.
Japan, in one day, went from being the third wealthiest country in the world, to becoming a country that is now in need. In need financially, emotionally and spiritually. I was asked to write a song, that would be used to promote relief efforts to this nation. I worked with my label and management, and we gathered artist throughout the city, that wanted to give of their gift and talent with 100% of the proceeds going to fund relief work through well established organizations such as World Vision and Red Cross. The amount of time and money that it would take to put something together like this, in the natural seemed impossible, yet I used what was in my hands, a pen and words inspired by the Holy Spirit and I put that into the basket, then a great producer gave of his amazing gift, and put it into the basket, then amazing vocalist gave of their voice, and put it into the basket, other creative aspects of this project from graphic work, to studio time, to video recording, to post production, were put into the basket. The resources that were collaboratively sown into this project, have overflowed to the brim, all because God asked us, to give Him what we have, and in our giving back to Him, He blessed it and multiplied it.
The song: Over all the Earth, written by me and produced by Derek "DC" Clark will debut soon, and I am so excited for you to hear it. If you have not had the opportunity, to put what you have in the basket, so that people can be blessed, you will have an opportunity to do so in a few short weeks.
Until the next Blog, remember yawl...Life is Choice, and Choice is Key.
Blessings!

All the Glory belongs to You oh God!
I was so excited to have the opportunity to minister in song on stage with artists that I admire and love during 2011 Stellar Awards pre-show events. It's one thing to meet the artists, another thing to meet the individual behind the artistry, behind the talent, behind the amazing performing, behind the flyest and latest fashion, even behind the scenes of the scenes. As I continue down this journey of music ministry, after this weekend, I am reminded to not only encourage through the songs that I write and sing, but to continue to encourage with my testimony, my lifestyle, how I relate to people when I do not have the platform, or the influence. I want the love of Christ to flow and show through me so boldly and brightly, that I become invisible and Christ becomes the #1 superstar.
I had many cool and memorable moments. The one that continues to remain in my mind and spirit still this very day, happened at this event called the "Everything Fresh Party". My manager, photographer friend and myself attended an event; it had a variety of artist that ministered. Some were very well known, and some that I had never heard of before. There had to be about 20 groups/individuals performing at this event. We were probably half way through the event, when this young man took the stage. No bells and whistles, very laid back stage presence. He had on a beanie cap, sweater, shirt, jeans, no background vocalist, and no full live band. When he took the stage, immediately, the atmosphere in the venue changed and he had not even begun to sing yet. His sound.. unique, kind of like Wyclef meets Music Soul Child. I loved it; it was not like any gospel artist I had heard to date. He was small in statue but the anointing that was on him, made it seem as if he filled up the entire stage. When he opened his mouth to minister in song, it was like something was pulling and inviting you to enter into the place where he was, a place that he knew of very well and appeared to spend a lot of time in. He had the kind of presence that didn't encourage you to look at him, but pointing and invited you directly to the entryway of Gods presence, pointing people to the Light of Christ.
I was reminded of the scripture as he began to minister "If you lift up the name of Jesus, He will draw all men unto Him". I will tell you this; he encouraged a spirit of Praise and Worship in that place, like I have never felt before. It was like he changed the focus from performance to Worship and it took a minute before the next artist could come on stage, because of the anointing that flowed through him.
See, it was not that he could do amazing vocal gymnastics, or that he could bend backwards while he was hitting a long single note. He was an individual, a man first, a child of God first..not an artist, though he flowed in this creative gifting with ease, you could tell, this was not his focus...getting people to enter into Worship was. He obviously understands the importance of spending time with God, communing with him, listening to him, seeking him, being obedient, and because of this, he is so easily able to affect the surrounding around him. He didn't need cheerleaders behind him; He just brought Worship, something you can't expect someone else to do, if you don't spend time in it yourself. You can't tell someone to Worship Him, and not show him or her how it needs to be done, in Spirit and in Truth. Even right now, I can hear the words that lingered in the voices of everyone in that place even after he had left the stage..people continued to sing this phrase.. "All the glory belongs, to you, all the glory belongs to you, Oh God".
Of course I had to go and download his music...and even just listening to it, the power of the worship even on his cd is just unreal. There are few artists that can translate worship from a cd and send you straight to the thrown room, and this young man is one of them. His name is Mali Music, and he made me revisit my purpose for my praise, and why I desire to affect the world with the music ministry God has given me. I revisited the definition of this word "anointed":
1. To apply oil to as a sacred rite especially for consecration
2. To choose by or as if by divine election
3. To designate as if by a ritual anointment
4. To prevent infection by anointing a wound
I am sure, pretty much all of us have heard or know of the first three definitions, but the fourth definition, really made me think about something, something that I think we tend to overlook because we are so intrigued by someone’s talent and ability, whether it's preaching, writing, designing, building, singing and so on.. but we forget that at the end of the day, healing needs to take place, change should have happened, something that could have been infected, will not get sicker, but will get better. I sum up the word anointed with this definition, because it helps me always put into perspective, not to get caught up in the talent of a person, how fly or "not fly" a person is dressed, how cool their stage presence was, or how much they talk about what they do for people, for a community but truth be told, a person, operating under the anointing can go into a place, and change happens, point blank. Not just a casual shout or run around the sanctuary, but change that is visible, spiritual, felt and manifested immediately. Isn't that what Jesus did? Everywhere He went, change happened.
While I could focus on some things that may have caused a bit of disappointment in my eyes for the Christian Music Industry, I decided to walk away with the things that I believe planted seeds of hope and growth. To take note of the things that maybe didn't line up with the Word of God, and make sure that I do not fall into that category. To always be listening and in tune with God's way, and not my own. If God calls me to speak to it, then I will, but for this very moment, He has me focused on the light that I saw in this young man, because light is what I desire to be to people who are hurting..saved, unsaved and in-between.
This experience was an encouragement to me, that somebody has to be the light, we all can't be looking at what is wrong with the world to the point that we can't focus on all that God is doing. God sends many nudges our way, nudges of wise rebuke, nudges that will hopefully get us back on track to what our purpose is. At the end of the day, He will use whoever He desires, that has a heart to serve and obey his instruction and direction. We must continue to work out our own salvation and pay attention to the beckons of Light that He has placed in our pathway, to remind us..keep going, yes.. this way, follow this, don't follow that...
Mali Music made a statement that just summed up the weekend, and reminded me that I am on the right track...
Something in the lines of this-
"We need to stop saying, God is going to do and start declaring that God is doing. If we get back to Worship, the adoration, and Praise of our savior, your writing is going to change, your songs are gonna change, they are going to speak of the goodness and greatness of a God who delivers, heals, restores and who is doing great things right now, in the midst of our brokenness"
When he said that...I was like.. "Well alright then"...that's what I needed to hear!
Be blessed family...
God IS doing Great things!

Finding Your Place
Picture this.
You and some friends love the orchestra, and get tickets to the symphony. Excited, and knowing that the show is going to be amazing, you find your seats and get ready for the show to start. A few of the friends even know the violinist and the pianist. They eagerly await these musicians to take the stage. The lights go out, and the musicians begin to take their positions, only something is not right. The clarinetist is in the director’s spot; the violinist sits in the pianist seat. The pianist sits in the cello seat. The celloist is sitting in the symbol section. You say to yourself, hey they are out of position …that is not where they belong. You look around and see that a few more people who love the symphony have noticed the same thing. To a person who has come to the show for the first time, everything looks normal. Yet to a person who has spent years following and learning the who’s who in orchestra, they know that something is definitely not right. The director (who actually should be in the clarinet section) lifts his stick and begins the show. The sound that comes from this mixed up orchestra is just that…mixed up. Now.. even, those who are at the symphony for the first time realize something is wrong.

Have you found your place, to effectively do the work that God has called you to do? Or are you sitting in the wrong seat and wondering why you are not growing. Furthermore, are you sitting in someone else’s seat, holding them and yourself up? Like the story I told above, it is possible to appear that you are in the right position, until it actually comes time to show that this is where you belong. Before you were born, God already had plans and an assignment for you to accomplish. He determined and distributed gifts, which He knew, would aid and help you in this journey. Inside of us all, young or old, saved or not-saved, black or Asian, heavy or thin, we have gifts that were specifically given to us that is to be used for good and to sow into this world, into people.
Read with me this passage found in 1 Corinthians 12: 4-11 (NIV)
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of Wisdom. To another a message of Knowledge by means of the same spirit. To another Faith by the same Spirit, to another the gift of Healing by that one Spirit, to another Miraculous powers, to another Prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues and to another the interpretation of tongues. All of these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and He distributes them to each one, just as He determines.
My mother- in -law is in the childcare, not because it’s the only job she could find, but that she actually loves this industry of work with a passion. Watching her around children just amazes me. She is just a natural in the inner workings of childcare and children. They are drawn to her, and she is so effective in relating and reaching them. She serves freely in this ministry at her Church but she also prospers in the natural from it. It’s not easy work, but her passion for this industry overrides the tough days, and every day she gets up looking forward to getting to her kids. Even more, those around her can tell whether they have met her for the first time, or have known her for years, that she is in her right position. They see productivity, fruit, structure and wisdom something you can’t fake or pretend. I will tell you right now, I am not gifted in childcare and I don’t desire to be. I don’t care how much money you can make, I don’t enjoy it, the kids would realize quickly that they have got on my nerves, and I on theirs. So trying to make this my gifting would make everyone unhappy. Yet, we see this quite often don’t we, in society and in church? You have children who show a natural gifting in the creative arts, but the parents want them to be a doctor. So the child goes through many years and a lot of money spent in education, in a profession that may pay well, but they are miserable. We see, many people whom Pastor and should be in business. We see people who are gifted in social work, but are working blue-collar jobs. Everyone can take pictures, but not everyone is a photographer. The proof is in your work, the proof is in your fruit, the proof is in your eyes, do they light up when you talk about what you set your hands to do? Or are you just in a position because it pays well, because it was all you could find for a moment? We can learn to do things, to survive or just get by, and this is understandable. Life throws curve balls, and you have to adjust to hit the ball, but don’t adjust so far out that you can’t get back to your God given gift. The notion that image is more important than passion needs to be eradicated. It allows people to be excused for doing and being things; they were never designed to be or do. The result of being subjected to someone who is not in the right position can be harmful and very damaging.
In the same token, people can prevent people from taking their rightful position. I see it in the church a lot and I say to myself boy we are missing it in some areas. How many musicians are sitting out in the congregation, and should be in the music ministry. How many women that have lived long enough to go through some things and have the ability to speak and disciple our young girls. The church can’t evolve without the many giftings that are in the house, and it definitely won’t grow if you are not using every member to accomplish God’s work. Just like we only use 10% of our brain, I would venture to say, we only use 10% of God’s people to work the ministries of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Now granted, some just don’t want to or have no clue what to do, but many more are ready, are mature but the position is being held up by someone who really is not great at it, but they are handsome and give the biggest offering. The church has set a certain standard and if the people don’t look the part, the get overlooked. They can also have a tendency to hold onto people who God wants to release into the next phase of their ministry, not realizing that there is another person who is ready to transition into it and take it to the next level. I wonder how many people have we lost to the world, because we didn’t allow them to take their place in God’s Kingdom? They were not thin, not pretty, too big, not big enough, not rich enough, too quiet, not quiet enough, not the right style of singing, not the right style of playing; but the bottom line is, they are sold out for Christ and if you give them an assignment, they will not only get it done, but they will get it done with ease and excellence.
Those who follow Christ, and aim to live according to His Word should never be unsure about this one thing. God has given you exactly what you need to accomplish His plan, with the permission to flow in it freely. I love to write and sing, even more so I love to encourage, inspire and build up people. I know that these giftings are to work together to accomplish the larger plan God has for me. I can become skillful in other things, but it’s going to be centered around my natural bent and God given abilities. You won’t find me trying to direct an orchestra, or open a daycare, or become a Math teacher. God always opens a door for my ministry and I go where He sends me. I encourage you all, to truly self inspect, and make sure you are walking in the gifting that God gave you. We need you to be in the right position, not just for your own journey, but also for the journey of others. Stop forcing yourself into the puzzle space, when you know you don’t fit, if the space calls for a circle and you are a triangle, you will never be settled and always agitated in this position because it was not designed for you. Parents, Teachers, Leaders, we need to also be aware of how we direct our children and those we cover in ministry. Your child is good in gymnastics, but you want her to play the flute, don’t do that. Pastors, this person wants to lead worship, teach discipleship class, pastor our teenagers, but they don’t like to be around people. It just does not work and the end result will be a hot mess.
Let’s commit this year to finding our place so that we can keep accomplishing great works for God. Finding your place, and being secure in it, will save you so much heartache and hurt feelings. How empowering is it to know, that God knows the plans He has for you and that He has already determined and equipped you with the gifting to accomplish that plan. Come on, we can do this yawl! Let’s walk in our purpose! Get in your Word, find out who you are in Christ, and let him begin to reveal to you, all that you are. Talk to people around you that know you. If you are gifted in art of “gossiping” go ahead and redirect that and become a reporter, that way you can talk all you want about some type of news and you will be good at it…LOL!
Oh I almost forgot to mention this..if you are in the Nashville area next week, come on out to an amazing event full of people walking in their God given gifts. See flyer below.. :)
Blessings,
Fahren

Loving and Listening....
I just don't believe it. 2011 is upon us. Time to go over my goals and carry them over from 2010, because I can tell you right now..I did not accomplish all of the things I set out to do. My natural bent, is that of an athlete...I am a high performer, high goal setter. I will have 20 outrageous goals I try to tackle every year. As I continue to mature (age), I have learned to stop doing that to myself. I would say I have accomplished some cool things on my list for 2010, yet on the same token, I straight up, sucked in some of the other things that I wanted to accomplish.
I think the number one goal on my list this year, is to truly grow deeper in Loving and Listening in my relationship with my savior Jesus Christ. It's seems so easy to just say this, but I honestly struggle more than I feel like I should in this particular area of my spiritual life. I discovered that I really never emotionally attach to too many things, for fear of disappointment, or rejection. After some earthquake situations rocked my world just recently, I began to look over the goals I've written over the last few years, and they touched on everything except this area of my life. Allowing and receiving Love, Listening and hearing the leading of Holy Spirit. I wish I could speed this process up, it's 20 years and counting and I am still learning to open up, and emotionally allow myself to receive the Love of Christ and Listen to Him.
Now, you are probably wondering, ok Fahren, that's cool, how do you plan to do this? You asked a very relevant question, and I asked the Holy Spirit the same question. He revealed this scripture to me, I've never even come across it before, I've read similar scriptures, but not this one...and it absolutely ministered to me. I've been meditating on this scripture, and hands down, it is going to be my foundation for 2011.
Proverbs 1:33 " but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."
I mean, this scripture right here, would have kept me out of some self-sabotaging issues as well as direct attack from the enemy. This scripture didn't even have the word Love in it, but for me...it's spoke volumes about Love and the Holy Spirit just gently spoke this to my spirit. .."If you love the Lord, like you say you do Fahren, then listen to Him, in all things, not just some things. Love listens, Love is safe, Love brings Peace, Love protects..Love just does so many things. I still think people use this word way to loosely, like it's a catch phrase or word trend. Love is the real deal, when you allow it to be what it is. You can't conjure it up, it comes out of the experience of receiving Love when you really didn't deserve it, earn it, work for it, or even operate in it yourself. Man oh man, from here on out, I am going to be more aware of how I use and represent Love.
It's so funny, how we hear what we want to hear, listen to what we should not be listening to, and ignore the things that we really need to hear. Just this past Sunday, my Pastor began teaching on "Taking heed to what you hear", and it just hit me all upside the head. I just have not been a very good listener in some areas of my life starting with listening to the needs of my own heart and then moving out from there, regarding the needs of my husband and my children. I do well in listening and executing what everyone else needs, outside of these 3 areas of my life. So this year, this is going to be my focus. To some of you, this is nothing, you grew up in Christ, understanding what unconditional love is, and are giving and receiving full on in this area, Praise the Lord..pray for me, cause I will be in that place soon, I may do ok, but I need to massage this revelation into all areas of my life and be better than than just ok. I can do more, need to do more and will do more in this area...especially if I want to continue to do great things for the Kingdom of God.
I can no longer be afraid to allow Love to penetrate me and overtake me in every area of my life..surrendered to the Love of Christ that is. I am not sure what it was, that would only allow it to a certain level, and then I would build a wall of protection around the tender areas of my heart. Well, I take that back, I do know what caused me to defend and deflect, but I can no longer keep using my past as a deflector... as if God would leave or forsake me...but it goes back to the area of listening and hearing. His Word says and tells me that He would never leave of forsake me. His Word tells me that He would not give me more than I can handle. His Word tells me that His yoke is easy, and His burden is light... but I did not always hear or listen with my heart and my Spirit what His Word has been speaking and saying. This will not be the case this year however, I will overcome in this area, I believe it is the Key to unlocking greater things that are to come in my life...in some obvious areas, and in those not so obvious areas. .
My Pastor said this on Sunday, that just sealed the deal of what I am going to make priority in this season of life...
"Take heed to what you hear, because it decides how you will live. One thought ( negative or positive) can either keep you on the course that God has planned for you, or throw you off course. God always wants us growing and increasing, whether it is growing roots (deeper) or producing stock ( higher). Start with believing that God has great plans for your life "( Jer 29:11) ~Casey Treat~
What a perfect timing Holy Spirit Word this is for me. God having great plans for me, means that He Loves me. I heard this so differently than any other time before. So here I go, walking and believing that God has great plans for my life. My goal is to get better at walking in this, and giving the same level of Love He has for me, back to Him or at least try my very hardest. It is all going to start in "loving and "listening" and taking heed to what I hear.
Be blessed this New Year yawl, I definitely plan to be!

Merry Christ..mas...
Ms. Emma's (Big Mamma) collard and mustard Greens, brown sugar & pineapple glazed ham, homemade mac & cheese, homemade dinner rolls, dressin' (not stove top) but the kind of dressing that is made from cornbread (made from scratch), Big mamma's pecan pie with a touch of that Tennessee taste and sweet potato custard pie..that just melts in your mouth.
These type of meals..can only be made with Love...aged recipes handed down from at least three generations ago and conversation...conversation..the best conversations in the world, are the conversations, that take place in the kitchen. I don't care how much I fuss about too many people in my way while I am trying to cook, everyone seems to somehow make their way into the kitchen.
A little Fred Hammond and some Israel Houghton sets the mood for Praise and Worship...then Soulful Christmas Donny Hathaway music begins to play in the atmosphere, all of a sudden we start to dance and sing.."This Christmas, will be....a very special Christmas.... Some of us are singing in the correct key...and some not..but the passion of the singing is what moves us. We start to reminisce about any and everything...picking in the ham, licking the cake batter bowl...sneaking a fork full of greens, while the cooks back is turned...but cooks know when someone is stealing a taste of their food, so we don't trip, we just wait to see the expression of if they like what they just sampled...
The best part...and I'm sure you already know what I am going to say...Is celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. True..He was not born in December..we know He was born somewhere around the Harvest season, but since we can't actually put a date on His birth, the fact remains...He came, and He came so that I and you and whoever else that would and will believe by Faith, could be saved.
I can never get enough of saying "Jesus is the reason for the season" but I'm adding to it...I will go as far as to say..Jesus is the reason for every Season.
Be blessed yawl, enjoy your family and friends.
In Him,
Fahren
